Purebred Breeders LLC explores 2 Budget-Friendly Doggy Birthday Party Ideas

Throwing themed doggy birthday parties have become quite common among dog lovers. Owners feel like those parties provide a great way to honor our canine companions, thank them for bringing joy to your lives, as well as to simply bond and have fun. There are so many ideas available to choose from that these gatherings can easily be tailored to accommodate just about any kind of guest, and finding a  budget-friendly theme is easy. Here are two of the Purebred Breeders, LLC team’s favorite cost-effective doggy ideas and simple tips to get started.  Remember that the time spent is what is important, so there is no need to go overboard or overspend on the party.
 A Garden Party
Purebred Breeders, LLC see this as a great opportunity to spend a lazy summer afternoon enjoying the extravagance of the great outdoors.  Set the scene by decorating the backyard with artificial bunnies, butterflies and bugs, or anything your dog likes to chase.  These can be made out of lightweight cards and can be suspended from tree branches via strings. They can also be attached to the walls and fencing.
Next, include things such as rawhide treats, chews and bones, but be sure to place them on tall tables so they are out of reach. This will allow you to monitored how much is consumed.  Purebred Breeders, LLC strongly suggests that you keep all doggy treats separate from those prepared for human consumption; particularly if the human food is doggy themed as well.  Lastly, invite a few of your fellow dog lovers along with their pets and let the festivities begin (don’t forget the presents)!
A Tropical Island Paradise
This theme can be nicely captured by using a Luau as the inspiration, and your backyard can be turned into a tropical paradise by using blue, purple, yellow and pink crepe paper streamers to achieve a cool Hawaiian look. Give the female dogs leis that are brightly colored and provide the male doggies with tropical themed bandanas (upon arrival of the party guests) to further capture the experience. Lastly, set the mood with some Luau music going in the background, and remember to have enough Luau-inspired food for everyone. Note that Purebred Breeders, LLC food tips for the garden party applies here as well.

Two-Ingredient Homemade Strawberrry Dog Treats - Purebred Breeders

Making a family meal is a great way to bond with your loved ones; this is a time when traditions are passed down, and maybe some secret recipes are spilled. Making dog treats with Purebred Breeders recipes is also a great way to teach your kids that their relationship with their pup is just as important as the one one with their family. Follow the simple guide below to learn how you can produce one of the tastiest 2-ingredient dog treats from your own kitchen.

Ingredients:

2 cups rolled oats (this is a great alternative to many types of flour and the consistency can be turned into that of flour with the use of a blender)
1 cup strawberry compote (this is a great alternative to jams/jellies)

Tools:

1 blender
1 medium to large bowl
1 mixing spoon
Parchment paper
1 cookie sheet

Directions:

1.    To start, gather all the ingredients and tools listed above.
2.    Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Celsius. Due to the fact that the preparation process will take less than ten minutes you don’t have to worry of having an overly heated oven.
3.     Blend the rolled oats at maximum speed, until they have the consistency of flour. If you do not want to do that much work, try substituting oats with whole wheat, white, or any other type of specialty flour, you may even try the gluten free* varieties.
4.     Place the oats into the mixing bowl, add the strawberry compote** and gently combine both until they are well incorporated with each other.
5.     After completing this process, spoon adequate portions of the mixture onto the cookie sheet but not before laying the parchment paper on top of it.
6.     Place the cookie sheet into the oven and bake the treats for approximately 25 minutes or until the oats appear to have a slightly browned top.
7.     Remove from the oven and let them cool for 2 to 3 hours before giving them to your dog. You can store the rest in the refrigerator for up to a month or in the freezer for 3 to 6 months.

The recipe above is so simple that you could come up with numerous substitutions for the compote that will be safe for your dog and most importantly that they will love. The objective of Purebred Breeders is to get pet owners to form a great relationship with their animals and a great way to do that is through food. Feed them in a healthy way and treat them right so that they will always be loyal to you.

* Although gluten free flour is great for health in general, it can be a little hard to bake with, you may need to add some water to “loosen” it up a bit.

** There are some dogs who are reported to have numerous food allergies, especially to certain types of fruits, therefore, it is best to ask your vet before making these treat at home. However, if you do not have the time, a great alternative to compote could be baby food, these are usually safe since babies are also particularly vulnerable to allergies.

Tips for Capturing Charming Photos of your Dog | Purebred Breeders LLC

A good dog photograph is that one snapshot that shows your dog’s personality. Capturing that moment in time when your dog’s emotions - whether curiosity, anxiety, love, adoration, protectiveness, aggression, happiness, etc, is worthwhile.  However, this isn’t always easy to achieve and can take a lot of patience, understanding, time and energy. Here are a few few tips and Purebred Breeders LLC:

Your dog must be comfortable in his environment. If he/she is uncomfortable, chances are the portrait will be of low quality and would only seek to capture the dog’s physical presence, rather than its character. Dogs, like people, have different personality traits; an active dog may prefer an environment conducive to running and playing such as the park, while a lazy dog may be comfortable laying down in a cool area or in a sleeping basket. Dogs love to be with their friends and family. Purebred Breeders gives paws up to photos of dogs in their natural environment doing their regular routine, as it’s likely to turn out great.

Be playful. A good romp makes them happy and toys can be used to encourage this. Purebred Breeders, LLC encourages you to play with your dog and help them to develop their trust and self confidence. After playing to their hearts content, dogs are normally tired and willing to do whatever you desire, as they are too tired to protest. At this point, you can dress them up and use props to enhance your photographs with few challenges.

Don’t forget those treats! Purebred Breeders, LLC reminds you that dogs love the reward system for being a “good doggie,” and a treat should always be given to encourage good behavior, especially after your dog has been gracious. If your dog is good at obeying commands, and will stay or sit in a position of your choice, this will definitely add to a less stressing snapshot. Remember not to overdo it; dogs tire and get bored too.

There is a saying that ‘the eyes are the windows to the soul,’ and this is also true for dogs. Try to be at eye level with your dog; Purebred Breeders, LLC guarantees that you will get some of the most exhilarating pictures that can tell so much about your dog’s personality.

Be alert and ready to take the shot. Your camera should not take a long time to capture the scene. Also, be prepared to take lots of photos from different angles and distances until you get the perfect shot. Knowing your camera settings and the limitations of your camera is important.

Good lighting is essential for a perfect photo, no matter the subject. Not all dogs will tolerate the use of flash, as this can be quite irritating or frightening to them. Digital cameras allow you to delete, so experimenting with different lighting in varying environment is recommended.  You would be surprised that good pictures of dogs are not only captured in extremely bright light and shadows; these situations don’t necessarily spoil a picture.

Practical gifts are always the best; these could include grooming kits, gift vouchers for pet stores, dog collars, doggy bowls, and homemade treats among many other gifts. Keepsakes for your visiting friends and their owners are always a good way of thanking them for sharing in the occasion. One of the greatest gifts that Purebredbreeders.com thinks you can give to yourself and your favorite companion is to capture the special moments by taking photographs that you can reminisce and place in your family album.

Top 10 Most Famous Animated Dog Characters – Purebred Breeders

Canines are a big part of human existence. In fact, they seem to have a place in almost everything we do, experience, or enjoy. It is not surprising, therefore, that some of our favorite characters spanning decades are dogs, whether real of animated. Below is a list of the Purebred Breeders team’s 10 favorite animated dogs and some simple or strange facts we love about them.

1.    Snoopy from the comic strip “Peanuts” has been around since the 1950’s and is presented as a Beagle. He is the dog of Charlie Brown and a very good pilot who walks on his two hind legs. For this he has the tendency of pretending to be a person and sometimes forgets he is a dog. Because of his "fame" of being a pilot, Snoopy is the official mascot of aerospace safety, testing and the rebuilding of the Apollo Program.

2.    Scooby-Doo, from the Scooby-Doo Adventures, is created by Hanna-Barbara. He is presented as a Great Dane who speaks rough English. He is always running from ghosts as he is easily scared, but in the end proves to be a brave dog and a top detective.

3.    Pluto, who is the pet and friend of Mickey Mouse, is modeled on the English pointer breed. He is probably one of the oldest dogs presented here, and vocalizes in barks and grunts. He is loyal and tends to win over the hearts of other cartoon characters.

4.    Droopy was created by Tex Avery and has a sagging face, thus the name Droopy. He was first presented in 1943 as a Basset Hound. He moves slowly and speaks in a jowly monotone and seems content on being lazy. He has, in true tradition of cartoons, occasional flashes of super strengths.

5.    Underdog is presented as a superhero that has the head of a hound and the tail of a beagle. He is also presented as a humble and lovable “Shoeshine Boy,” and becomes Underdog when trouble is presented. He replenishes his power by taking an Underdog Super Energy Pill. When in action he uses the quote “There’s no need to fear, Underdog is here!”

6.    Astro is the family dog of the Jetson’s. Like Scooby-Doo, he is presented as a Great Dane who also speaks rough English. He was found by another character, Elroy, and even though he was clumsy and dim-witted, he is very loyal to the Jetson’s.

7.    Brian Griffin, from The Family Guy TV Series, is presented as a Beagle. He is anthropomorphic, with the ability of walking on two legs, speaking intelligently and driving a car. He is also fond of martinis. However, he exhibits dog behaviors, like licking himself, and rolling around in trash.

8.    Clifford the Big Red Dog is a scarlet Vizsla, and is one of the tallest cartoon dogs (about 8m tall), as well as one of the most famous. He first appeared in a Children’s book series in 1963. He is very adorable with a big, kind heart. However, he often gets into trouble due to his size.

9.    Spike is the arch nemesis of Tom in the Tom and Jerry cartoon. He is a grey American Bulldog that usually plays the over-aggressive bully. He has, however, been presented as a very intelligent character, who, in one episode, convinces Tom and Jerry to end the fighting among all three and signs a Peace Treaty. Of course, that didn't last long.

10.  Odie, from The Garfield Show, is not altogether smart (which acts as a part of his overall charm) and is presented as a Beagle. On occasions, he outsmarts Garfield, who often calls him a moron. He has a very long tongue with which he surprisingly uses to write.
